Bromford Flagship LiveWest maintains top regulatory ratings in first judgement since merger
Bromford Flagship LiveWest (BFL) has received the highest possible ratings for governance and financial viability from the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH), in an interim regulatory judgement published today (25 February).
The G1 governance and V1 financial viability grades confirm that BFL meets all regulatory requirements and has the financial capacity to deal with a wide range of adverse scenarios.
The judgement follows the completion of the merger between Bromford Flagship and LiveWest on 29 January, which created one of the largest housing associations in England.
Robert Nettleton, Chief Executive of BFL (pictured), said: "We're pleased that the Regulator has issued a G1/V1 rating in its interim judgement. This, alongside the recently issued credit ratings of A+ (Stable) and A2 (Stable) by S&P and Moody's respectively, provides both a solid foundation and recognises the strength of Bromford Flagship LiveWest, providing confidence as we embark on our purpose of enabling more people to thrive."
The rating reflects the solid foundations already established having recently become a newly merged organisation, and demonstrates strong regulatory confidence in BFL's ability to remain fully compliant while delivering on its ambitions.
Both Bromford Flagship and LiveWest held G1 and V1 ratings individually before the merger. The RSH confirmed the combined organisation maintains those standards, based on a review of regulatory returns and financial information from both landlords.
The merger has brought together the best of each organisation to create BFL with the capacity, capability and strategic focus needed for the long term.
The regulator's interim judgement demonstrates the strength of the new organisation's governance, the depth of its financial planning, and the clarity with which it is managing risk and future investment.
BFL serves almost 300,000 customers across east, central and south-west England and is the UK's largest provider of new affordable homes, delivering over 3,000 each year.
